Toyota Accessport Datalogging Guide

This guide explains how to properly collect datalogs using your Cobb Accessport on your Toyota. Accurate logs are critical to the tuning process, so please follow these instructions carefully. This process is what sets real tuning apart from flash tuning.

Safety Notice

Before logging:

  • Choose a safe, open stretch of road

  • You will need room to accelerate up to approximately 70 mph

Do not attempt datalogging in traffic or unsafe conditions.

Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle

  • Navigate to the Gauges screen on the Accessport

    • You may configure the gauge layout as desired

  • Drive the vehicle until it reaches full operating temperature

  • Find a safe road where a steady acceleration can be performed

Note:
Unless you were provided a special map that locks the transmission into a single gear, continue with the steps below.

Step 2: Configure Logging

You may log either manually or automatically. Both methods are acceptable.

Manual Logging

  • While on the Gauges screen, press the center button on the Accessport to start and stop logging

Automatic Logging

  • From the Gauges screen, open the top-right menu

  • Select Configure Datalogging

  • Enable logging on Wide Open Throttle

Step 3: Perform the Datalog Pull

Follow the instructions below based on your transmission type.

Automatic Transmission

  • Place the shifter into Manual Shift Mode
  • Select 4th gear
  • Begin around 35–40 mph (~2000 RPM)
  • Start the log (any time before throttle is applied)

Apply Wide Open Throttle (WOT) and maintain throughout the pull

What to expect:

  • The transmission will typically downshift to 3rd gear
  • The dash may still display “4” — this is normal

Important:

  • Do not worry about hitting the rev limiter
  • Continue the pull until:
    • ~5800–6000 RPM (preferred)
    • OR ~70–80 mph (safety limit)
  • End the log after you lift off the throttle

If the transmission does not downshift:
Continue the pull anyway and end the log at the RPM target above. This is normal.

Manual Transmission (MT Only)

  • Shift into 3rd gear
  • Begin around 2000–2500 RPM
  • Start the log (any time before throttle is applied)

Apply Wide Open Throttle (WOT)

  • Continue the pull until 6000–6200 RPM
  • End the log after lifting off the throttle

Do not shift gears during the pull.
Keep the throttle fully open for the entire acceleration.

Number of Logs

  • Collect two full logs, unless different instructions were provided

Step 4: Retrieve and Send Your Logs

  • Connect the Accessport to your computer using the USB cable

  • Open Accessport Manager

  • Select Datalogs or All Files from the filter dropdown

  • Locate the appropriate .csv datalog files

  • Drag and drop the files into a dedicated datalog folder on your computer (DO NOT USE THE 'SAVE' FUNCTION IN AP MANAGER AS THIS COMPRESSES THE FILE AND WILL DELAY REVISION)

  • Upload the logs using the link provided in the email
